Planning application process

If you are planning on carrying out building work you may require planning permission. Submit a planning application using the e-Planning service. 

Before applying please read our planning guidelines.

Read our advice on major developments if you are planning a large development.

Planning Aid Scotland (PAS) also offer a free, impartial and confidential planning advice service, provided by specialist volunteers, all of whom are chartered planners.

Please be aware that you may also need to apply for a Building Warrant.

Work that may not require permission 

If you are only making small alterations you may not require permission.

Planning privacy notice

Our privacy notice below sets out what happens to comments submitted as part of the planning process.  For planning applications, your name, address and stance will be published on the public comments tab of the planning portal as soon as you make your comment.
