What we advise on
We don't usually provide bespoke pre-application advice on
- householder developments
- advertising and signage
- simple changes of use / alterations.
Advice on proposals of this nature can be accessed in the planning quick guides.
In exceptional cases, for example complex or sensitive developments, we may be able to provide advice. This is on a case-by-case basis at team managers’ discretion. Contact us to discuss this.
Advice on non-material variations does not fall within the scope of the service. Contact the relevant case officer for advice on non-material variations.
The pre-application service has been re-adjusted as officers continue to work from home. Meetings will be via Microsoft Teams. Requests for advice should be sent to [email protected] using the request form.
Please note that enquiries will be assessed and site visits will only be undertaken if necessary to understand the proposals. This will be subject to a prior risk assessment and full compliance with Covid 19 restrictions It is therefore important that sufficient information is submitted to allow us to make an assessment in case a site visit is not merited.
Paying for advice
As we are unable to take telephone payments whilst officers are working from home, payment for the pre-application service can, at present, only be made by BACS. Details can be found in our Customer Service Guide on how to pay be BACS.
