Apply for library membership
You can join the library online or in person at any library.
When you join online you will be given a temporary membership number which you can upgrade to a full membership by visiting any library and showing one of the following proofs of ID:
- bank statement
- utilities bill
- UK or other driving licence
- passport
- National Entitlement card
- university or college ID
- Young Scot card
- national identity card
- family credit book
- rent book
- council tax payment book
- Jobseekers Allowance book
- medical card
- building society passbook
- citizen card
- City of Edinburgh Council staff card
