Apply for library membership
Join the library online or in person at any library.
When you join online we give you a temporary membership number which you can upgrade to a full membership by visiting any library and showing one of the following proofs of identification
- passport
- photo driving licence
- national identity card
- National Entitlement Card
- Young Scot card
- university or college ID
- National Library of Scotland membership card
- City of Edinburgh Council staff ID
- Council Tax bill (current)
- bank statement (dated within last 3 months)
- utilities bill (dated within last 3 months).
