Corstorphine Connections

Project overview

We're proposing a safer and more comfortable environment for residents walking, cycling, wheeling and spending time in the local streets and outdoor spaces of Corstorphine.

Project objectives

Our project objectives are to

  • improve the safety of routes to schools in the area
  • understand and address issues with speed and volume of traffic in residential streets
  • improve walking and cycling routes and access in the area
  • improve local air quality
  • create a more attractive environment with new public realm spaces.

To meet these objectives, the Council’s Transport and Environment Committee has approved the development of trial changes in the area that will reduce the amount of traffic and prioritise anyone walking, wheeling or cycling.

As part of this, all residents' properties and businesses are still accessible by vehicle.

All of this work is driven by our City Mobility Plan which will help us deliver Edinburgh's target of net zero by 2030.
