Edinburgh's Licensing Board

The Licensing Board is responsible for regulating the sale of alcohol to the public and certain gambling activities.

The Licensing Board does this by issuing alcohol licences and betting and gambling permits.

Statement of Licensing Policy 2018

The Licensing Board has begun its consultation on the terms of its Statement of Licensing Policy. Details of the consultation are available on the Council’s Consultation Hub.

Festive extended hours 2018

The board’s festive extended hours policy operates from 18 December 2017 to 3 January 2018. Premises with festive seasonal variations in their operating plans can trade for an additional two hours, added to the terminal hour on Monday 18 December 2017, with the last extra two hours added to the terminal hour on Wednesday 3 January 2018.

Any other premises seeking additional hours during that period would have to submit applications for extended hours in the usual way in good time.
