Local Place Plan

What you need to do

If you are thinking about producing a Local Place Plan, email us to register your interest. cityplan2040@edinburgh.gov.uk

Council officers can join your community meeting to discuss what’s involved and whether the Local Place Plan is the right route for you.

If you have already produced a Local Place Plan, it must be registered with us. To register your plan, please email us a copy.

Our Development Planning team will carry out a validation check. This includes

  • an assessment against legal requirements as outlined in the Planning Circular
  • making sure it contains all the required information
  • checking that the organisation submitting the Local Place Plan is a properly constituted community body.

Once all the checks have been completed, we will register your Local Place Plan and upload it to our Local Place Plan register.
