Environment: 

Accommodation, Catering and Events (ACE) provides catered and self-catered residential accommodation for over 10,000 students, including community and welfare support through its Residence Life service. We also operate 17 cafes and a range of other catering products to students and staff across the University estate. Under our commercial brand, the University of Edinburgh Hospitality and Events Collection, we deliver hotel accommodation options to around 200,000 guests each year plus an extensive selection of conference, catering and event services to over 2,000 events.

What might a day in this role look like?

You will be a part of the busy cleaning team based primarily in student accommodation. You will deliver a quality cleaning service, allocate work to other domestic staff within a defined area of responsibility, ensure these areas are maintained to the required standards and cleaning service is carried out at expected frequencies to meet the agreed service level. You will carry out cleaning duties in a range of designated areas including kitchens, bathrooms, common living and public areas. This is a part time position working 30 hours per week, 5 over 7 days, Monday to Friday.

What qualifications/skills are required?

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and the allocated work rota  
• Time management skills and ability to complete all workload in required timeframes
• Excellent attention to detail. 
• Professional and friendly manner when dealing with customers
• Experience of working with wide range of customers and ability to recognise and respond to the varying customers’ requirements.
