Audit Apprenticeship Programme - KPMG - 18496

Contract: 5 years, Salary: £25,500 - £28,000 per annum dependent on programme and location, Closing Date: We recruit on a rolling basis

Employer:

KPMG in the UK is part of a global network of member firms. Through the talent of our c.16,000 people in the UK we make a meaningful and positive difference for clients, people and the communities we serve. We’ve been doing this for more than 150 years.

Our work spans five areas: we Audit many of the UK's largest companies. And our people in Consulting, Deal Advisory, Tax & Law and Technology & Engineering work shoulder-to-shoulder with clients, ranging from small start-ups and individuals to major multinationals, in virtually every industry imaginable. Our work is often complex, yet our mission is simple: to support the UK in a connected world. It guides everything we do, underpinned by Our Values: Courage, Integrity, Excellence, Together and For Better. We use the power of our voice in UK business to spark debate, share ideas and bring about change, using our global network, to draw on expertise from beyond the UK's borders.

Environment:

In Audit, we support sustainable business growth by examining organisations and providing a true and fair view of their financial position. Our work helps to build public trust in organisations and the economy as a whole. The information that we provide can also help businesses to operate more efficiently and mitigate their financial risk.

What might a day in this role look like?

Some of the world’s biggest companies rely on us for our audit expertise. You’ll find yourself at the heart of these organisations, gaining varied experience on complex engagements. We’ll expect you to play an important role in supporting continuous improvement and audit quality, working with new technologies such as AI to analyse data and produce great work. Travel is likely for audit and because the work is seasonal, you should expect there to be busier times of the year. This is a 5 year programme starting in Autumn 2026.

What will I learn?

You will study for the AAT Levels 3/4 (SCQF Levels 6-8) initially and then move to study for the Level 7 ACA/CA professional qualification, providing you with structured learning through a blend of innovative study, both online and in person. Throughout the programme, you will benefit from learning every day, having the resources and support that you need to thrive with us, develop valuable technical skills and to reach your full potential.

What qualifications/skills are required?

  • 5 National 5 qualifications at Grades A - C (including English and Maths at Grade B or equivalent) or 5 GCSEs at A* - C or at 4 - 9 (including English Language and Maths at Grade B or 5)
  • 120 UCAS points from your ‘top’ 3 grades at Higher/Advanced Higher Level, excluding General Studies under the 2017 tariff point system or A Level (300 UCAS points pre-2017) (Calculate your UCAS Tariff points | UCAS).

Generally, you’ll be expected to demonstrate the above grades (or equivalents), to show that you’re able to successfully study for professional qualifications. If you are a few grades or points short, we would still encourage you to apply, as your application will be reviewed together with your performance in our assessments. You‘ll also have the opportunity to provide additional information for us to assess your application and potential in the context of your socio-economic background and/or any extenuating circumstances, which may have a positive uplift on your academic achievements through contextual recruitment.

We recruit on a rolling basis, which means we close routes when we have sufficient applications to fill roles available. It is therefore important that you submit your application sooner rather than later! The launch pad for this role will be taking place on Tuesday 17 March.
