This post will support the Council’s priorities of providing services within the community, providing support to residents to prevent and stay out of poverty, while also helping to create good places to work by encouraging employers to increase inclusion and diversity within their businesses.

What might a day in this role look like?

This post will involve a range of administrative and project delivery tasks to support the operation of The Edinburgh Guarantee. This is an exciting and fast-paced role, working with members of the public, third sector, education, and local businesses across the city to ensure a No Wrong Door Approach to those requiring support. You will support individuals to prepare for, and enter, sustainable employment and access opportunities that otherwise they may not have access to. 

  • Engaging members of the public to promote the support available through the Edinburgh Guarantee - working across stakeholders and internal council services to engage the hardest-to-reach communities.
  • Engaging with employers and delivering funding incentives in line with fair work principles.
  • Engaging with employers to promote the Edinburgh Guarantee employer support offer.
  • Supporting enquiries from the Edinburgh Guarantee inbox ensuring a no-wrong-door approach.
  • Building relationships with the third sector and education. 
  • Promoting the Edinburgh Guarantee through marketing campaigns, social media, and website.
  • Attending events and forums to promote the work of the Edinburgh Guarantee.
  • Accurate data recording and project management through our CRM system. 
  • Developing and maintaining contacts within the Council and partnerships with other agencies.
  • Assessing the effectiveness and impact of projects on an ongoing basis through the implementation of effective reporting and creation of briefing papers.
  • Implementing and monitoring of branding guidelines across all Edinburgh Guarantee support.

What qualifications/skills are required?

  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience is essential.
  • Experience of managing customer and client relationships. 
  • Experience of successfully supporting projects, demonstrating effective partnership working and innovative and entrepreneurial skills.
  • A proven track record in being able to work collaboratively with others and taking personal responsibility
  • Responding swiftly to changing priorities. 
  • Ability to deal with conflict using tact, sensitivity and diplomacy. 
  • Ability to act on own initiative.
