Fire stopping and compartmentation
As part of our commitment to safety we’re making improvements across all our multi-storey blocks in the city, including Kirkgate House. We've asked our fire safety contractor to look at important fire safety upgrades primarily in common areas of the building, such as the lift lobbies and drying areas, and at firestopping around cables.
The upgrades would significantly reduce the risk of a fire spreading in the building.
Information for owners
We've already been in touch with owners to provide more detail on the proposed upgrades and the costs and to ask them to vote on whether to go ahead with the proposed upgrades. The majority of owners would need to vote in favour of the work for it to go ahead.
