Fire safety improvements at Kirkgate House
Residents’ safety is our priority, so we’ve been carrying out fire safety inspections on multi-storey blocks across the city, including Kirkgate House.
As the duty holder for the block, we have a legal responsibility to provide fire safety measures and to make sure these are properly maintained. Over the last year we've carried out several different fire safety inspections and surveys which have identified fire risks which need to be addressed. As a result, there are four different fire safety initiatives happening in the block which are each at different stages but will all
- make the block safer
- reduce the risk of fire spreading in the block
- allow easier access for the fire brigade and improve their ability to fight any fires.
