Visitor guidance
If you’re expecting any visitors to Waverley Court, including colleagues from other buildings, people arriving for an interview, members of the public, contractors or suppliers, it’s important you follow the following process. Part of this process will soon change when the visitor entrance opens into the Calton Hub.
Current process
- All visitors should be prearranged.
- Contact WaverleyCourt.Reception@edinburgh.gov.uk and let them know
- who the visitor is
- when you’re expecting them
- which colleague they’re visiting and their contact details.
- Check to see if your visitor has any accessibility needs, and if they do, discuss this with the FM team and make sure the visitor has a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) in place.
- Tell your visitor before they arrive to go to the main entrance.
- The Customer Contact team will greet all visitors and let the relevant colleague know their visitor has arrived.
- The visitor will then be issued with a visitor pass, which they must always wear.
- You must meet your visitor in reception and provide a brief induction, which includes
- where the nearest fire exits are
- if there are any planned fire alarm tests
- any other relevant information.
- You must always accompany your visitor.
- You must escort your visitor back to reception make sure they sign out and return their visitor pass.
- If there is a fire alarm, escort your visitor out of the building using the nearest fire exit and stay with them until it’s safe to return to the building. Should the visitor decide to leave before you’ve returned to the building, take their visitor pass and sign them out when you’re back in Waverley Court.
Future process
Visitors will be asked to go to the visitor entrance, opposite Costa. We’ll let you know when this process has changed.
