Old Dalkeith Road to Craigmillar Castle

Craigmillar Castle dates back to the late 1300s, and Mary Queen of Scots is said to have stayed there in 1566. There is plenty to explore in the castle and surrounding gardens, and there are toilets in the visitor centre.

Craigmillar Castle Park is a natural heritage park with areas of mature and young woodland, grassland and old quarries. 

Paths

Mostly wide and flat, with some gentle hills. You can walk on the grassland.
