Where to park coaches

Parking 

Always use dedicated coach parking bays. Do not use on-street pay and display bays.

Register for the RingGo App to pay for parking.

Coaches are not permitted to to park on pavements and penalties will be issued to those who park incorrectly.

Drop-off and pick-up 

Coaches should use designated areas for drop-off and pick-up.

However, you can stop to drop off or pick up passengers - for up to two minutes only - on single or double yellow lines.

Do not drop off or pick up where there are loading restrictions, indicated by signs or stripes on the kerb.

Designated coach drop-off and pick-up is currently available for free for up to a maximum stay of 30 minutes, at Castle Terrace

  • Monday to Saturday from 8.30am to 6.30pm
  • Sunday from 12.30pm to 6.30pm.

Coaches may use park and rides for drop-off and pick-up but must confirm availability ahead of travel by emailing

parkandride@edinburgh.gov.uk.

Short stay

We do not have any short stay coach parking available right now.

Short stay coach parking would allow a maximum stay of four hours. 

Medium stay

This is available for up to a maximum stay of nine hours at

Medium stay parking costs £9.80 per hour.

Long stay

We don't provide long stay parking.

However there are two private long stay coach parks providing twenty four hour secure parking in Edinburgh:

Event parking 

You can apply for temporary parking through a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order for events such as sports fixtures, the festivals or rail replacement. View or apply for a TTRO.
