Industrial Action in Schools
Updated 21 September 2023
As you’ll be aware, due to the ongoing dispute over the National Local Government pay award, we’ve been informed there will be planned industrial actions in schools directly affecting pupil support, catering and facilities colleagues.
The industrial action is planned for 26, 27 and 28 September 2023 by Unison.
Schools will be closed to pupils however teaching colleagues and those colleagues not taking part in the Industrial Action will be expected to attend for work.
We’ll keep you updated as the situation progresses.
Salary deductions
A day’s pay will be deducted for each day of industrial action an employee takes part in.
Manager actions
- Managers must ensure that all industrial action is recorded on the Halo (askHR) form.
- A Halo form should be submitted immediately (or as soon as possible) after the industrial action has taken place.
