This fund is now open for the funding year 2024/25. Customers who registered interest in the fund have been notified and invited to apply. This fund is expected to be highly popular and may be subject to delays due to high demand.

Funding

If you are in a low-income household living within 20 kilometres (12 miles) of the LEZ, you may be eligible to apply for a grant of up to £3,000. This includes

  • £2,000 for disposing of vehicles which do not comply with the low emissions standards in authorised disposal centre
  • £500 Travel Better vouchers per adult, up to £1,000 per household to buy bikes, e-bikes, cargo bikes and public transport tickets.

Borrow a childrens bike for free in Edinburgh

The Wee Bike Library is a programme run by The Bike Station (supported by SESTran). Based in Edinburgh, the Library allows families to borrow childrens bikes and cargo bikes for free. Bikes can be exchanged for the next size up as their children grow.
