Westfield Court

Timescales and updates

We are keeping residents updated by letters, meetings, emails and events - look out for correspondence in the post. Specialist officers are also available onsite to provide support and advice Mondays - Wednesdays, 10am - 3pm at our South West Office - appointment is needed (please note the drop ins were previously held at Westfield Court but since 3 March 2026 have moved to our South West Office). We will also keep these webpages up to date with the latest information.

It is important to note that no decisions have been made about the future of Westfield Court. We want to make sure that all owners are included in the decision-making process as we move forward.

21 May 2026

On 18 May 2026 we received notification from Historic Environment Scotland (HES) regarding their initial assessment of Westfield Court, which they believe is of special architectural and historic interest and may meet the criteria for being awarded listed status. HES is yet to make a final decision and intend to publish a report before beginning a consultation in the next 4 – 6 weeks.

The Council’s position is that the costs for essential repairs are currently unaffordable and, officers believe that if listed status is awarded, these costs are likely to increase further. This is likely to impact on our ability to carry out essential repairs or invest in the building and unfortunately, this means that we must reluctantly pause both the report to Finance & Resources Committee on 23 June 2026 and the purchase of properties until HES come to a decision.
