Timescales and updates

We are keeping residents updated by letters, newsletters and events - look out for correspondence in the post. Specialist officers are also available onsite to provide support and advice Mondays - Thursdays, 10am - 3pm. We will also keep these webpages up to date with the latest information.

It is important to note that no decisions have been made about the future of Westfield Court. We want to make sure that all owners are included in the decision-making process as we move forward.

However this is an outline timeline 

2024 - 2025

  • Detailed surveys for the block carried out.
  • Expert consultants prepared detailed building condition survey report.

June /July 2025

  • Final copy of the building condition report, with recommendations and high-level cost estimates, received by the Council and shared with owners and residents.
  • Engagement sessions with all residents to answer any questions about the report.
  • Work began on communal areas to improve fire safety across the block. Works due to complete mid-October, however this is subject to change.

Autumn and winter 2025

  • Engagement with all residents to make sure they are aware of the condition of the building
  • Meetings with owners to discuss next steps and actions arising from the building condition survey report.
  • Specialist officers on site to offer advice and support, Mondays - Thursday, 10am - 3pm
  • Report to Housing, Homelessness and Fairwork Committee on 2 December with recommendations for future options for the building.
