Timescales and updates

We are keeping residents updated by letters, meetings, emails and events - look out for correspondence in the post. Specialist officers are also available onsite to provide support and advice Mondays - Wednesdays, 10am - 3pm at our South West Office - appointment is needed (please note the drop ins were previously held at Westfield Court but since 3 March 2026 have moved to our South West Office). We will also keep these webpages up to date with the latest information.

It is important to note that no decisions have been made about the future of Westfield Court. We want to make sure that all owners are included in the decision-making process as we move forward.

However this is an outline timeline 

Autumn and winter 2025

  • Engagement with all residents to make sure they are aware of the condition of the building
  • Meetings with owners to discuss next steps and actions arising from the building condition survey report.
  • Specialist officers on site to offer advice and support, Mondays - Wednesday, 10am - 3pm
  • Report to Housing, Homelessness and Fairwork Committee on 2 December with recommendations for future options for the building
  • Report to Housing, Homelessness and Fairwork Committee on 12 May which will outline a wider range of options which may include, if feasible, phased works, reconsideration of the full scope of the 2025 Building Condition Survey, more detailed cost estimates for a long-term maintenance plan, potential grant funding sources, details of a possible demolition strategy, and alternative approaches such as a phased Council divestment.

June /July 2025

  • Final copy of the building condition report, with recommendations and high-level cost estimates, received by the Council and shared with owners and residents.
  • Engagement sessions with all residents to answer any questions about the report.
  • Work began on communal areas to improve fire safety across the block. Works due to complete mid-October, however this is subject to change.

2024 - 2025

  • Detailed surveys for the block carried out.
  • Expert consultants prepared detailed building condition survey report.
