Marionville Road proposals

We have developed proposals to improve Marionville Road between its junctions with Marionville Avenue and Wishaw Terrace.

These improvements will better connect local communities to the wider walking, wheeling and cycling network with a safer and easier routes for people choosing to travel actively.

They have been designed to complement the Smokey Brae proposals and will extend QuietRoute 20 from Marionville Road at Lochend Park to Restalrig Avenue at Craigentinny Avenue.

We would like to hear your views on the Marionville Road proposals. Take part in our online consultation. 

We're also hosting a community engagement event on Wednesday 20 August 2025 at Craigentinny Community Centre, 9 Loaning Road, Edinburgh EH7 6JE.

  • a wide carriageway with a lack of safe crossing opportunities for people walking, wheeling and cycling
  • a lack of safe infrastructure for people cycling
