Commis Chef - Pollock Halls - The University of Edinburgh - 18618

Contract: Open-ended (Permanent, 35 hours per week), Salary: £24,547 per annum, plus 15% Premium Band for flexible working, Closing Date: 28th July 2026.

The Opportunity:

An opportunity has arisen for a Commis chef to join the University of Edinburgh’s Conference & Events Catering Department, based at Pollock Halls in the South Hall Kitchen. We cater for everything from small meetings and private dinners to large, high-profile conferences. We also run an extensive Outside and Delivered Hospitality service, supplying food to over 180 University buildings as well as private and corporate venues across the city. Interviews will be held 2 weeks from closing date.

Accommodation, Catering and Events provides catered and self-catered residential accommodation for over 10,000 students, including community and welfare support through its Residence Life service. We also operate 17 cafes and a range of other catering products to students and staff across the University estate. Under our commercial brand, The University of Edinburgh Hospitality and Events Collection, we deliver hotel accommodation options to around 200,000 guests each year plus an extensive selection of conference, catering and event services to over 2,000 events.
