Register for 2026 / 2027 garden waste collections
Garden waste registration is open and will close on 1 September 2026 at 2pm.
The 2026 to 2027 service runs from 3 November 2026 to 31 October 2027.
How to register
You need to sign in or register with mygov.scot myaccount to register for the garden waste service. This allows you to track your garden waste subscriptions.
An annual Direct Debit is the easiest way to register which automatically renews your subscription every year. The first payment will be taken within seven days of you registering. Future payments will be taken on or shortly after 1 August each year.
Sign up for garden waste collection by Direct Debit
If you are a customer with a one off subscription, you can sign up to pay by Direct Debit for the next service year. If you would like to move to a Direct Debit subscription for the next service year call the customer contact centre on 0131 200 2000 option 8 then 1 or 0131 608 1100 option 1. Please note that the initial payment for the next service year will be taken on or around 1 August.
The garden waste sign up form times out after 10 minutes. Have your bank sort code and bank account ready before you begin.
By signing up you agree to our terms and conditions.
Annual Direct Debit payments will continue until you cancel your subscription or we have been unable to take payment. Find out how to cancel your Direct Debit.
If you move house you can transfer your permit.
Tenement addresses
If you live in a traditional tenement, with a numbering system like 1F1, 1F2, and so on, this is the format used when registering. The flat numbers follow the flow of the staircase for each floor. For example, 3F2 is 3rd floor, flat 2, which is the second flat from the stair.
Other ways to register
You can register for one collection year with a single card payment. You will need to register every year to continue receiving the service in future years.
