Council employees: e-payslips and improving communications

Information for employees

The current Coronavirus pandemic has highlighted just how important it is for us to be able to communicate quickly and directly with all colleagues and this means we need to introduce new ways of communicating digitally.

We know that we need to keep on modernising our working practices to ensure all colleagues receive information in a timely way. Additionally, we want to continue to reduce the costs and reliance we have on our paper-based processes, which in turn will help us to reduce our carbon footprint.

We have around 5,000 colleagues who don’t have access to our digital systems. Any employee who normally receives a paper payslip has been identified as someone who might benefit from direct communications. HR have sent the applicable employees a letter and invited them to sign-up to a new way of receiving updates.

What we would like you to do

Provide your personal email address and mobile phone number on an online form to sign up to:

  1. Receive monthly payslips sent securely by email (at least three days before they get paid).
  2. Access a new digital app which will allow you to receive Council-wide communications and notifications to your smart phone / device).
  3. Emergency notifications, e.g. building closure, or severe weather alerts affecting services.
  4. Access our online e-learning application.

It’s really easy to sign-up

You must complete the online employee details form with personal details and preferences. A link to this form has been included in the letter you have been sent from HR.

If you do not have access to Council systems, please look out for the letter, and and follow the instructions to sign-up.

Further information

This is only applicable to employees who do not have Council email addresses. Any employee who usually has access to myHR is not in scope for receiving e-payslips and signing up for our new digital mobile app.

Personal information and preferences will be stored confidentially on our HR and payroll system, in line with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
