**The Low Emission Zone Support Fund and Travel Better Fund (provided by Scottish Government) is now closed to new applications for this financial year. Previously submitted applications will continue to be processed and funding offered on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability**  Updated 15 Feb 2024

Funding

If you are in a low-income household living within 20 kilometres (12 miles) of the LEZ, you may be eligible to apply for a grant of up to £3,000. This includes

  • £2,000 for disposing of vehicles which do not comply with the low emissions standards in authorised disposal centre
  • £500 Travel Better vouchers per adult, up to £1,000 per household to buy  bikes, e-bikes, cargo bikes and public transport tickets.

Free e-Cargo Bike trial

The Council has partnered with Cargo Bike Movement to help individuals shift to more active and sustainable modes. You can try a range of electric cargo bikes for a free trial period if you live in the Edinburgh area.
