Changes to bus services

Closing the roundabout affects Lothian Buses services 21 and 47 for the duration of the project. There is no change to bus service 32.

Free bus shuttle services

We appreciate that in the case of the service 47/47B, disruption to Cramond residents is considerable and so in partnership with Lothian Buses we are providing shuttle bus services to connect

• Cammo and Cramond
• Davidson's Mains to Cramond

Cammo to Cramond shuttle bus

This service will operate between 7am and 7pm every 30 minutes Monday to Sunday. 

The shuttle service will run via a one-way loop along Gamekeeper’s Road, Cramond Road North, Whitehouse Road, Barnton and on to Cammo where residents can connect with services 47/47B.

Davidson's Mains to Cramond shuttle bus

This service will help Royal High School pupils at peak times and throughout the day and will be a useful link for Cramond residents going to Davidson's Mains for shopping or appointments. 

We will monitor the service closely and make any adjusments if necessary.

• Shuttle buses will run every 15 minutes starting from the Tesco in Davidson's Mains.
• They will run daily from 7am – 7pm.
• They will travel on a loop between Tesco at Davidson’s Mains, along Cramond Road South, Gamekeeper’s Road, and Cramond Road North. We expect the full loop to take around 15 minutes subject to traffic.
• The buses will stop at all bus stops that are usually serviced by the 47 bus along that section of the route.
• Each bus can hold up to 16 people.

If you need public transport outside of the shuttle bus running times of 7am to 7pm, a free taxi service can take you from your home or nearest bus stop to the nearest operating 47 bus stop, which is at Cammo, and from the bus stop to your home on your return journey.

This free service will be available out of hours when the 47/47B would normally serve Cramond: 

• Monday to Friday: 5.15am – 7.30am and 7pm - 12.20am 
• Saturday: 6.15 am to 7am and 7pm – 12.20am 
• Sunday: 7pm – 12.20am (the first bus is at 7am on Sunday)   

This service is also available to residents in the Barnton Gardens/Cramond Road South area who may need support to get to the operational bus stop at Cammo.
