Essential users and carers parking permits

Essential user permits (EUP) renewals for 2024

Essential user permits (EUPs) are due to expire on 31 December 2023.

You will be able to renew your existing permits 8 weeks before they are due to expire via your essential user permit account.  You will receive an email reminder when the option to renew becomes available.

If you have new staff, you will need to upload an additional essential user permit registration form as part of your application.

The cost for each permit remains at £10.00.

You can download our essential user permit guide if you need assistance on how to renew.

Once approved and paid for your permits will arrive with you mid-December, ready for use from January 2024.

You can view the  essential user permit terms and conditions for use.

Carers

Whether you’re a paid or unpaid carer we’re proposing to introduce permits which aim to make it easier for you to park.

There are two different types of permits being proposed:

  • Professional carers permit – for those employed by an organisation or agency and who make multiple visits in a day.
  • Personal carers permits – for those caring for family or friends on an informal basis. This would apply even if you are in receipt of any type of carers allowance.
