Edinburgh Early Learning and Childcare Academy (EELCA)
We provide funding Edinburgh Early Learning and Childcare Academy (EELCA) for qualifications to support our staff in their professional and career development.
Courses
For academic year 2026 / 27, we fully fund our SEYOs and EYOs for the PDA Level 8 and 9 qualifications as well as the BA in Childhood Practice, funding for EYO's who have at least two years’ experience for level 8, 9 and BA. We also contribute funding towards the Froebel qualification for all early years staff who wish to complete this.
The following qualifications which will be available to our EYPs in the first instance and will be delivered by our own EELCA team. These are
- SCQF Level 4 mentoring
- SCQF Level 7 Forest Kindergarten.
Applications for additional funding for qualifications should be discussed with your line manager and submitted before you apply for a qualification.
