It is estimated that the pilot project of repairs and maintenance will cost around £30m between 2021 and 2023, of which the Council is planning to invest over £20m. Our service is working with private owners and Council tenants to organise work on 180 blocks in the Wester Hailes neighbourhood. The work will be carried out in a number of phases over the next three years.
Restoring the buildings in these areas to a good state of repair will benefit residents by making their homes warmer and more comfortable, while improving the look of the overall environment. Better kept neighbourhoods will also improve the quality of life of people living there.
