Ukraine Welcome Hub
Last updated 23 January 2026
At the Hub, we will give you a short but very warm Scottish welcome. If you are meeting your host at the airport, we would still encourage you to visit the Welcome Hub as soon as you can after arriving. We will ask some questions of you and your host (if you have one) to confirm your identity. We will also ask if there is anything you need immediately to make your first few days more comfortable and share information about living in Scotland.
Your host will also have to undergo a property check and obtain a DBS certificate through us. If this has not been completed prior to your arrival, we will have to complete these checks prior to your host receiving their thank you payment.
The welcome hub is open
- Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm
- Friday 9am to 4pm.
If you arrive in Edinburgh after 4pm on a Friday or over the weekend, please call our 24-hour helpline number, 0131 200 2306 (+441312002306). We are unlikely to be able to offer you temporary accommodation. The Council has a very limited supply of temporary emergency accommodation. Such accommodation is also needed for other people in the city who are homeless.
