The project proposals

West Granton Road

  • one-way, cycle lanes that are separated from traffic on the north and south side of West Granton Road
  • routing cycle lanes around the back of bus stop areas
  • improving existing and building more pedestrian crossings
  • improving West Granton Access junction for pedestrians
  • installing raised tables (speed humps) at minor side roads
  • developing the roundabout at the end of Pennywell Road so cyclists can travel around it, separate from traffic. Zebra crossings will be at every access/exit to the roundabout.
  • West Granton Road will still have single traffic lanes in each direction.

A road has cars moving in both directions with a pavement either side and people walking along one side. To the other side, there is a grassy corridor with trees. A path runs alongside with people jogging and walking. in the distance are houses and cars

Outdoor spaces

We want to create outdoor areas for socialising and play that are

  • safe
  • easy to access
  • well lit

We will also build in sustainable measures like drainage systems that will help reduce the risk of flooding and help with climate resilience.
