Queensferry High Street improvements

More information about the improvements

The final scheme has been developed to strike a balance between maintaining a town centre that is safe and welcoming while supporting the needs of local business and residents’ parking.

  • A permanent one-way road layout for traffic heading east
  • Widened pavements and slightly narrowed road to create a safer layout for pedestrians and westbound cyclists
  • A contraflow cycle lane heading west, with a segregated cycleway on Edinburgh Road.
  • A restricted zone through the High Street to restrict parking
  • Most of the existing pay and display parking bays will remain
  • Full time disabled parking places will be retained
  • A 7.5 tonne weight limit on the High Street will be introduced with a relaxation to allow morning deliveries
  • Dedicated loading bays on the High Street that operate during the morning
  • A Car Club parking bay on the High Street and two EV charging bays on Edinburgh Road
  • We have included a significant number of spaces for visitors and residents to park on Edinburgh Road
  • The heritage railings will be refurbished on the Terraces and outside Rosebery Hall
  • The Town Crest on Rosebery Hall will also be refurbished
