Reusable nappies guide

Where to buy reusable nappies

Reusable nappies, wipes and accessories are widely available online. Although we can’t endorse any specific company you can sometimes buy them in national chain stores, such as Boots or in specialist shops. If you’re not sure Edinburgh Real Nappy Community is a great place to start, and they can lend you nappy kits too, so that you can try them out and work out which will work best for you.

Reusable nappies are designed to be washed and reused, so you can also source them secondhand. National Childbirth Trust nearly new sales , The Used Nappy Company and online platforms like ebay and gumtree might be good places to start.

Donate nappies

You can pass them onto a friend or family member or if you are based in Edinburgh, donate them to the Edinburgh Real Nappy Community or the Pregnancy and Parents Centre, where they will be resold for a small price to help continue their services. If the nappies have seen better days, you can still recycle clean ones as textiles at a textile bank.

If they’re no longer reusable you can still recycle clean ones as textiles, at a textile bank.
