Supporting a greener, healthier, and resilient city
We have developed a forward-looking, 30-year strategy to guide the future management, enhancement, and sustainable funding of the city’s parks and greenspaces.
The Thriving Greenspaces Strategy is a key component of the Edinburgh 2050 City Vision, supporting the creation of a greener, healthier, and more resilient capital. It sets out a long-term commitment to protecting and improving Edinburgh’s natural spaces, ensuring they continue to benefit communities, biodiversity, and the wider environment.
Developed in collaboration with partners and informed by public engagement, the strategy outlines new approaches to how we plan, fund, and care for our greenspaces. It aims to embed sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation at the heart of how we manage these vital assets.
