Seasons Greetings' artwork competition winning designs unveiled.

Today (Thursday 4 December), this group of six winners’, their families and teachers joined Lord Provost, Robert Aldridge and Cllr Dalgleish, Education, Children and Families Convenor to unveil their designs at one of the bus shelters on Princes Street.

Councillor James Dalgleish, Education, Children and Families Convenor said:

It is the first year that I have had the chance in my role as Education, Children and Families Convenor to judge the entries in this annual competition, and I was blown away by the quality and detail of the designs sent in by learners. It was incredibly difficult to select our winning entries as the standard was incredibly high. A huge thank you to the teaching staff in our schools who have encouraged pupils to get involved in the competition, and well done to all those who have had their creative designs recognised.

Lord Provost, Robert Aldridge said:

Once again, I am astounded by the standard of creativity from children and young people across the city. We received a staggering number of entries and it has been difficult to select winning designs. I hope that pupils, along with their families and teachers, enjoy seeing their creativity brighten up Princes Street this weekend, and I’m sure they’ll bring joy to all who see them.

Mike MacLennan, New Business Development & Partnership Manager at JCDecaux UK said:

Our annual Season's Greetings collaboration with the City of Edinburgh Council is a wonderful celebration of the talent and creativity of young artists in Edinburgh schools. We are delighted to showcase the winning artwork on digital bus shelter screens along Princes Street, bringing seasonal cheer to people out and about in Edinburgh.

The designs will be displayed on bus shelters on Princes Street on Thursday 4, Friday 5, Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December.
