Lord Provost Robert Aldridge and Edinburgh Interfaith Association Chair Professor Joe Goldblatt have today issued a statement in support of those impacted by the situation in the Middle East.
We know that, like us, many of you will be deeply concerned about the terrible events that are unfolding in the Middle East and that some will also be anxious and scared about family and friends.
Our hearts go out to all Israelis and Palestinians who are impacted at this extremely difficult time and we’re hoping and praying that a resolution can be found.
We are extremely proud that Edinburgh is a diverse, welcoming city that embraces all sections of society and a city where people from different backgrounds get on well together.
Our diversity is our community strength, and we want to do everything we can to ensure that everyone feels reassured and safe at this difficult time.
