Kids and their parents and carers are cooking up a storm across Edinburgh this half term holiday thanks to free cookery classes.

The classes are delivered as part of the Discover! programme, which offers a range of free activities during holiday periods, from day-trips, films and science workshops to sports, music, storytelling and arts and crafts.

Sustainability Champion Councillor George Gordon, a former professional chef, went along to St David's RC Primary School to take part in one of the cooking classes there last summer.

Cllr Gordon, who is also Chair of Edible Edinburgh, said:

These cookery classes are a brilliant way to tackle holiday hunger and help families have fun making easy, nutritious and budget-friendly meals together. This is part of the diverse range of work being undertaken by the Council, our partners and the third sector to tackle food insecurity and improve child health and wellbeing right across Edinburgh as part of the successful citywide Discover! programme.
