Edinburgh’s domestic abuse strategy and improvement plan

In April 2016, we asked you to have your say on Edinburgh's domestic abuse services. Over 500 people who are affected by domestic abuse, or who work with families, told us how our services can be improved.

We looked at the results, other research and examples of good practice across the world and wrote our domestic abuse strategy and improvement plan. It was agreed by the Edinburgh Partnership in June 2017.

The plan gives seven ways we can improve our services and work together with police, health and the voluntary sector. It shows how we can improve how we

  • provide housing
  • train our staff
  • work together
  • check how effective we are
  • fund domestic abuse services
  • listen to people who use our services
  • work with people who experience and commit domestic abuse.
