We, the undersigned, are calling on the Council to take action to improve pedestrian safety on this road, where crossing has become extremely dangerous due to a significant blind spot. The road is regularly busy with traffic, and the existing layout makes it difficult for pedestrians to see approaching vehicles and for drivers to see pedestrians waiting to cross. This creates a serious risk, particularly for children, elderly people, people with disabilities and anyone who may have difficulty judging the speed or distance of approaching vehicles. We believe that a controlled pedestrian crossing, such as traffic lights or a suitable signal-controlled crossing, would provide a much safer way for people to cross the road and reduce the risk of a serious accident. We are asking the Council to investigate the location and the safety concerns raised by local residents and to consider installing traffic lights or another appropriate controlled crossing as a matter of road safety. This is about preventing an accident before one happens and ensuring that everyone can cross the road safely and with confidence.
