It is the CEC setting’s responsibility to ensure the following:
- Adhere to the CEC’s Excursions Policy.
- Ensure approval via the Outdoor Learning & Adventure Education (OL&AE) Team.
- The Group Leader must have Group Leader Training (CF2483) within the last 3 years.
- Only undertake those activities listed below.
- Liaise with the provider to meet individuals’ needs. This may require a provider to adjust their risk assessments and make reasonable adjustments.
Day activity is a Category 3. Overnight activity is a Category 4. Visits with a hybrid delivery solution e.g. this provider plus CEC self-led adventurous activity must be treated as Category 4 (day or overnight).

Note to provider:
- Check your returned form regularly to ensure you can deliver the activities listed below to CEC settings.
- Apply any conditions or exceptions specified by the OL&AE Team to all CEC provision.
- Any changes should be communicated promptly to excursions@edinburgh.gov.uk. Delivery to CEC settings must be paused until approval by OL&AE Team.
