Scope
This policy applies to “directed surveillance”. Directed surveillance is defined in the relevant Code of Practice as undertaken “for the purposes of a specific investigation or operation” and “in such a manner as is likely to result in the obtaining of private information about a person”. This includes repeated and systematic viewings of a subject’s social media sites.
