Aims and outcomes
To improve the quality of life of all children and young people with Epilepsy in education. To provide training for staff to enable them to recognise and manage seizure activity safely.
Content
Provision of key information and practical training on managing Epilepsy.

There is no attendance charge for this course. Managers, be aware there are minimum numbers of trained staff for each establishment detailed in 'The Handbook of Procedures for the Management of Pupils with Health Care Needs within Educational Establishments': https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/downloads/file/22105/handbook-of-procedures-for-the-management-of-pupils-with-health-care-needs-in-educational-establishmentsThis course will take place via MS Teams. This course is for all staff who are supporting a child/young person with Epilepsy. If staff may be required to administer emergency Epilepsy medication, as detailed in the Health Care Plan, please contact ASL Service DHT, Fran Platt, to arrange this training, it is a further half day training course (Fran.Platt@ea.edin.sch.uk).
