Regular activities for children and young people
Mondays
4 to 5pm, Chatterbooks reading group for children, fortnightly during term-time
6 to 7.30pm, Duke of Edinburgh for ages 12+
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) helps young people to build essential life skills and confidence and encourages them to take on new challenges and follow their passions. The library will be supporting the DofE in partnership with Community Learning and Development colleagues for this academic year to provide access to DofE in an area of the city that currently does not have access.

Tuesday
4 to 5pm, Lego Club, an hour of creative building with Lego blocks.

Wednesdays
5.30pm, Manga Club for ages 12 and up. Different activities each week include crafts, reading, movies and karaoke.

Saturdays
2pm, Arts and Crafts. An opportunity for families to have fun and craft to their hearts content. Prepare to get messy! For children of all ages.

Tuesdays
11am, Library Link service for those unable to come to the library under their own steam. Contact the library for more details.

Wednesday
2 to 4pm, Board Games Club, fortnightly
2 to 4pm, Knit and Natter, fortnightly

Are you a multilingual individual who would like the opportunity to meet other people from different cultural backgrounds in an informal English-speaking environment? If, so come along to the Language Cafe!
Second Friday of every month, open to all.
Fourth Friday of every month, women only.

Music Instrument Library
In partnership with Tinderbox Orchestra, members of Wester Hailes Library of all ages can borrow musical instruments for free, just like you borrow a book. We have a wide range of instruments including saxophones, trombones, clarinets, flutes, keyboards, accordions, guitars, ukuleles, violins and cellos.
All our instruments have been donated by our community. If you have an instrument gathering dust, please consider donating it to us.
