Road and pavement improvements
On Monday 6 July we will start work on safety improvements along Corbiehill Road outside Davidson’s Mains Primary School and the new temporary Blackhall Library, including:
- wider pavements
- traffic calming features
- blue badge holder parking
- cycle parking
The work will be done over the summer holidays to reduce disruption for children and parents travelling to and from the school. We expect the work directly outside the school to be complete before school starts again in August.
It is being coordinated with the work on Davidson’s Mains roundabout and we are doing everything possible to minimise disruption for local residents, bus services and general traffic. We will also work in stages to help reduce the impact on residents.
We will start work on the school side and then move to the east side of the street in the middle of the school holidays. We will use temporary traffic lights on Corbiehill Road and, when working on the east side, on Vivian Terrace (north).
Vivian Terrace (south) will be closed for the full duration of the work. This area will be used for the contractor’s compound. Vivian Terrace (south) will still be accessible for pedestrians, and cars can access via the northern branch of the street.
Corbiehill Park will be closed for vehicles during the installation of a raised table but will still have pedestrian access.
We will be in touch separately with the residents of 30 Corbiehill Road and Corbiehill Park regarding access to their premises.
