Trainee Fabricator - Henshaw Facades - 18430
Contract: Permanent, Salary: Real Living Wage (currently £12.60 per hour), Closing Date: 8 August.

Henshaw Facades Limited are based at 4D Queen Anne Drive Newbridge Edinburgh EH28 8PL.They are manufacturers and installers of integrated facades and have been tendering, designing, supplying and installing stick curtain walling systems nationwide for over 20 years.
Environment:
Working in the Factory, indoors in a small team, you will work under the supervision of experienced fabricators and report to the Production Manager. Your normal hours of work will be 37 hours per week, worked between Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.00pm and Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm.
What might a day in this role look like?
You will work with the Factory Supervisor to ensure orders are completed to a high standard to meet deadlines and interface with the Production and Despatch Departments as required. As a Trainee Fabricator you will be provided with the necessary structured training which will develop skills to facilitate complete the following tasks;
- To set up and operate equipment efficiently and safely as required to your area
- To understand and interpret technical drawings
- To fabricate doors / windows and curtain walling in line with LEAN Manufacturing criteria and HF quality standards and customer expectations
- To ensure machinery used is in safe working order and any issues/defects are reported immediately
- To ensure activities undertaken are completed as per agreed timescales
- To keep tools and equipment in good working order
- To maintain a clean working environment
- To safely store materials such that they are easily located.

- Educated to standard grade level
- Good communication skills

- Able to follow Health & Safety guidelines
- Team player and flexible
Other desirable qualities include a full clean driving license, a knowledge of health and safety legislation and an ability to lift and handle weights.

While we offer comprehensive and hands on training, there is an opportunity to gain further qualifications via Higher Education, CPDs and industry training. It is the intention for the candidate to progress to a modern apprenticeship in Fabrication of Glass Supporting Systems SCQF L5.
