Environment: 

Downfield HMO (house of multiple occupancy) is a 24 hour service which means the role will include a sleepover shift. The service supports four people and also provides outreach support within the local community. This role involves working 5 days out of 7 with a sleepover shift (22:30pm-07:30am) as part of a rolling rota each week. Sleepover shifts are paid at an additional rate of £123.05 per sleepover including holiday pay. There will also be weekend working which is shared within the team as part of the rolling rota. This job is restricted to male applicants only. This is an occupational requirement as permitted in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

What might a day in this role look like?

Mental Health and Wellbeing teams aim to reduce social isolation and improve physical and mental wellbeing. They will provide social, emotional, and practical support and help people engage with other services and local community activities. You will provide supported people with recovery focussed support and help them work towards individual goals and outcomes.

What qualifications/skills are required?

  • Good level of educational attainment 
  • Experience of being in a supportive and enabling role
  • Core IT skills and ability to input data, basic word processing, manage emails and electronic diary.
  • Work co-operatively with other professionals as required
  • Support individuals in line with organisational values, policies and procedures
  • Consistently work with a person-centred approach
  • Protect the rights and promote the interests of supported people.
