We’re improving the road surface, pedestrian crossings, traffic signals and drainage on Balgreen Road between Pansy Walk and Gorgie Road.
The work will improve driving and walking conditions and enhance road safety.
Working in stages
Phase one - Balgreen Road from Pansy walk to Balgreen Nursery.
Estimated 8 weeks to complete.
New traffic signals, pavement works and drainage - parking suspensions, some side road closures and temporary traffic lights.
Road resurfacing - parking suspensions, some overnight road closures and temporary traffic lights.
Traffic diversion via Corstorphine Road, Broomhouse Road, Calder Road and Gorgie Road.
Phase two – Balgreen Road from Balgreen Nursery to No.191 Balgreen Road.
Estimated 7 weeks to complete.
Roundabout upgrade, pavement works and drainage - parking suspensions, some side road closures and temporary traffic lights.
Road resurfacing - parking suspensions, some side road closures and temporary traffic lights.
Phase three - from No.191 Balgreen Road to Gorgie Road.
Estimated 3 weeks to complete.

We may have to adjust the phases and timings as the work progresses. If this does happen, we will publish updates on this page.
Our contractor will work Monday to Friday, typically between 8am and 5pm and occasionally on Saturdays between 8am and 5pm.
Access
- Pedestrians will be able to access the area at all times.
- Restrictions will be in place for vehicles at times during road resurfacing, apart from emergency vehicles which will have access at all times.
- We will use temporary parking restrictions to make sure the work is done safely, with signs showing details of specific restrictions.
