Bus shelter replacement programme

Bus shelters with advertising panels are being replaced across the city.

The first phase of replacements is now complete and the programme for additional phases is being developed. It is planned that this will commence in 2018. Details will appear on this page when finalised.

Replacing a bus shelter takes approximately two weeks to complete, depending on electrics and foundations. It involves four separate elements of work

  • power transfer
  • shelter removal
  • new shelter installation
  • new shelter foundation installation.

Please note the foundations can take up to seven days to complete and no other activity can take place on the site until the concrete foundation is cured.

You will be signposted to another nearby stop or find a temporary bus stop, close to the existing shelter when it is being removed.
