Operational plan and project update to be considered by councillors
George Street and First New Town latest update and operational plan
Councillors, at the Transport and Environment Committee on Thursday 15 June, will consider the updated principles of the proposed George Street and First New Town (GNT) Operational Plan.
The update includes the outcome of the recent stakeholder design workshop on landscaping and central spaces on George Street.
This stage is key to preparing the statutory road orders needed to construct the final George Street project.
The report also notes that there will be additional engagement with residents, businesses and stakeholders before we finalise the specific, detailed designs and operational changes for North Hanover Street, Frederick Street and North Castle Street. The final proposals will be reported to Committee for approval.
