Environment:
You will be responsible for managing, organising and maintaining the company’s stores, ensuring materials, tools and equipment are accurately logged, well-stocked and ready for operational use. The role includes preparing and issuing materials for jobs, receiving and checking deliveries, and keeping the stores clean, safe and compliant. In addition, you will carry out scheduled deliveries and collections to sites using company vehicles, ensuring all items are transported safely and efficiently. This role supports the smooth running of daily operations by providing reliable stock control, timely deliveries and strong communication with operatives, planners and management. Based at Sighthill, you will work 40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts per day Monday to Friday between 0630 and 1730, with overtime when available.
What might a day in this role look like?
A typical day involves organising and maintaining the stores, preparing materials for operatives, and receiving and checking deliveries. You will then load the van and carry out scheduled drop-offs and collections to sites across the city, ensuring operatives have the correct materials. After returning to the depot, you will update stock records, carry out basic stock control, manage returns, or waste, and ensure both the stores and vehicle are kept clean, safe and ready for the next day.

- A solid understanding of health and safety, compliance, and the wider operational flow of a maintenance and construction business.
What qualifications/skills are required?
- Full UK driving licence (desirable) with a good, safe driving record
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills to read delivery notes, stock lists and job sheets
- Good organisation skills, with the ability to manage stock, keep accurate records and maintain a tidy, compliant stores environment
- Practical, hands-on approach, able to lift, move, and handle materials safely
- Good communication skills to work effectively with operatives, planners, suppliers and management
- Basic IT skills, including using stock systems, handheld devices or apps for logging materials
- Reliable and punctual, with a focus on supporting daily operations efficiently
- Health & Safety awareness, including safe manual handling and vehicle safety checks
- While formal qualifications aren’t always required, experience in warehousing, stores work, delivery driving, or construction-related environments is highly beneficial.
