Customer Service/Front of House - Edinburgh's Christmas 2025 (Unique Assembly) - 18462

Contract: Temporary, Salary: starting from £12.60 per hour depending on experience, Closing Date: 6pm Friday 7 November

Unique Assembly have presented Edinburgh's Christmas and Hogmanay activations since 2022, and Edinburgh’s Christmas welcomed over 2.8m visitors in 2024 to enjoy a spectacular programme of festive fun in the city.

This year Edinburgh's Christmas will include seven weeks (49-days) of seasonal fun across Edinburgh’s city centre, including Traditional Christmas Markets, Funfair Rides, Big Wheel & Around the World Starflyer, Ice Rink, Santa’s Stories, Polar Ice Bar and more.

Environment:

The Front of House Customer Service teams may be selling tickets, helping the public in queues and entry into the events, attending a ride and managing the queues or assisting at the boot room of our Ice Rink. The roles are varied and quite often fast paced and all based in outdoor locations, so you'll need to layer up!

What might a day in this role look like?

  • the care and supervision of audiences at our event. To ensure their comfort and safety throughout their visit and ensure their experience with Edinburgh's Christmas is a memorable one
  • ensuring the event is always presented at its best. This includes picking up rubbish, helping the public with directions and ensuring people have a great time at the event
  • ensuring ticket scanning is efficiently completed and paperwork is correctly completed
  • reporting all incidents and near miss situations to the Supervisor or Site Manager on shift, dealing with any hazards that are safe to deal with to minimize risk
  • ensuring safe evacuation of the Venues and Site (members of the public and staff) in the event of an emergency; liaison with emergency services. Operation of Emergency Exits where required
  • ensuring guests with access requirements are assisted appropriately
  • to comply with and ensure others comply with Health and Safety and other policies
  • attending team meetings, training sessions as appropriate
  • to deal with customer complaints quickly, confidently, effectively and appropriately and escalating to management where necessary
  • asist with additional events/receptions when and if necessary, within the venue

Front of House Team Payment:

Roles are paid at £12.60 per hour, paid fortnightly in arrears.

Staff are entitled to discount at Unique Assembly run bars on site and have discounted access to selected rides and attractions.
